Cannabis extract is mainly derived from Dried Cannabis bio mass. Collected biomass initially undergo a cleaning process to remove any unwanted material like Leaves from other plants etc. Later on the dried biomass undergoes a process called CO2 Extraction. In this process Co2 gas is given high pressure and high heat which leads to Co2 changing from gas to Liquid state. This Liquid Co2 penetrates into porous solids. This process squeezes out Active compounds (Cannabinoids, terpenes, Lipids and waxes). This extract is quite viscous and is refereed as Cannabis extract. The Co2 Process has a major advantage it does not pull up much of chlorophyll from plant but big it pulls up good amount of lipids and waxes. Another process to clean up waxes needs to be involved. Other Extraction methodology involves food grade Ethanol Based Extraction Where in Dried bio mass is mixed with Food grade natural Ethanol, and ethanol pulls in All Active compounds including chlorophyll. This Process is utilized and perfected by food, pharma, Skin care and fragrance making industries. This process is quite safe. We at IBS employs both processes at different scenarios and situations.

CBD Dominant or CBD Balanced?

Depending on the origin of the harvest, the season and the type of strain, our experienced pharmacists have mastered the art of producing two different kinds of cannabinoid profiles known as CBD dominant extracts and CBD balanced extracts. If the CBD:THC ratio is 4:1, we call it CBD Dominant and if the CBD:THC ratio is 1:1, we refer to it as CBD balanced. Based on this, we have two base products available.

Dosage

CBD oil dosages are hard to calculate, even more so when it’s your first time. Not everyone’s endocannabinoid system is the same, and so the dosage is going to vary. For example, some will find relief with 5 mg twice a day whilst others will be satisfied with 100 mg four times a day.

So, how much CBD oil should you take?

To know how much CBD you should take, it is important to ask yourself three questions.

-Why am I taking CBD?

Depending on if you’re taking CBD oil for pain, anxiety, seizures, cancer, or another reason, you’ll want more or less CBD.

-What is my weight?

Your CBD uptake will be directly proportional to your weight.

-What is the strength of my CBD oil?

See the cover of your CBD bottle and find out how many milligrams of CBD is present in how many millilitres of total medicine. Your daily uptake of CBD will be inversely proportional to the potency of the oil.

Because the effects vary from person to person, it’s difficult to give you the exact dosage, and therefore we recommend you to work with a Doctor to help you find your ideal dosage amount.

If you feel that it isn’t enough for you, slowly up your dose until you feel comfortable with the results.

“Start low and go slow” is the motto you should follow!

What is Dewaxing?

Cannabis extract naturally contains neutral, non-active ingredients like waxes and lipids, which do not have much medicinal effect. Therefore, we at Indogenix put much of our focus on removing these waxes and producing the cleanest concentrates possible for our premium medicinal products that are destined to be inhaled and taken sublingually. For this we employ a dewaxing process known as ‘Winterization’ which involves a solvent, usually ethanol, and subsequent cold filtering.

What is Decarboxylation?

Decarboxylation is a process in which the raw cannabis dry bio mass undergoes chemical changes in a way that the acidic compounds within the extract are activated into their more accessible forms by the application of heat over time. This process increases the bio-availability of the compounds hence making it possible for them to interact efficiently with our endocannabinoid system.

To explain further, the cannabis plant does not directly make cannabinoids such as CBD or THC, but instead synthesizes cannabinoid acids such as CBGA, CBDA and CBCA, THCA and THCVA. Therefore, these cannabinoid acids must first be activated through the process of decarboxylation to yield each of their corresponding compounds. For example, after the extracted oil goes through decarboxylation, the acid form of CBDA becomes CBD.

Our Process

We give great attention to detail and are super careful with the machinery and the measurement techniques so that during the heating process, the most valuable flavonoids and other useful components are not lost in the air. The cannabis extract harvested at this stage has high viscosity like honey and the colour of the extract is golden if seen in sunlight through a glass container.

We at Indogenix process roughly 50 kilograms of extract and call it a batch. A sample from each batch is tested for its contents via a third-party laboratory (the third-party laboratory has no stake form Indogenix Biosciences) and one sample is submitted to government authorities. Once the report is in, we check it for the presence of any heavy metals or trace amounts of pesticides. If these traces are found, the full batch is rejected.

Since our bio mass is sourced from the natural spring waters of the Himalayas and the raw material is plucked from the wild as opposed to being manually grown by the farmers, we have never found any trace of pesticides or fertilizers in our lab test results. We are also super careful inside our laboratory to not use any bins or machinery having plastic parts. All our machinery is made out of high-grade steel and borosilicate glass and is either imported or custom made in India.

Our Unique Packaging Method

Since the viscosity of the final product is very high, it cannot be bottled as the expensive medicine will fail to come out easily while administering to a patient. Hence, we use a novel method of storage in the form of glass vials. One needs to remove the front silicone stopper from the vial, the press the plunger from behind and a few drops come out fairly nicely.
